DAN JONES is a Queens-based theater worker and visual artist. Playwriting includes The HALLOWEEN TREE (New Victory LabWorks, Southern Theatre) based on Ray Bradbury's novel, MAGGIE AT THE MIDDLE OF THE MESS (New Victory Theater/New School of Drama co-production), and PAIGE TURNER RUINS REALITY! (in development). Selected puppetry design: THE HALLOWEEN TREE, HUMAN (Center for Puppetry Arts, Asheville Creative Arts, The Shed [upcoming]) with Nehprii Amenii, MOBY-DICK (A.R.T.) and TAYLOR MAC’S A 24-DECADE HISTORY… (St. Ann’s Warehouse) as associate designer/lead builder with Eric Avery, BASKERVILLE (Everyman Theatre), FRNKNSTN (NYU Experimental Theatre Wing), REGRETFULLY, SO THE BIRDS ARE (Playwrights Horizons), and "El Bravo in Cardboard" (Nick Jr.), as well as performing in THE TEMPEST (puppetry captain/ensemble, Shakespeare Theatre Company) and fabrication for Shakespeare in the Park and many Broadway productions. Co-creator of THE JUNK DRAWER, a pre-K pilot now in post-production. Dan also loves creating immersive cardboard-based installation environments, often for the Children’s Museum of Manhattan.
